Ordering and accessing photos

For school photography customers, please email

customerservice@pret-a-portrait.net with the following details:

  • School Name
  • Pupil/Student Name
  • Class Name

For security, attach a photo of the pupil holding a piece of paper with today’s date. Alternatively, your school may assist you in retrieving the sitting ID.

Yes, you can order photos at any time. We store image files for at least ten years, often up to sixteen years.

This could be due to:

  1. An incorrect sitting ID. Ensure there are no typos, especially between similar characters like ‘O’ (letter) and ‘0’ (number).
  2. Your images might not be online yet. If the issue persists, please contact us for assistance

Yes, you can share your sitting ID. This allows them to view the pictures but not access your personal account. They can create their own accounts to place orders.

Photo editing and customisation

Most pictures taken since September 2022 are automatically cleaned up before being posted online, so you’re viewing a finished, print-ready image. If you notice any issues, please contact us for free corrections.

Yes. Select the ‘Custom Crop’ option and add your requests in the ‘Special requests’ box when adding pictures to your basket. Most adjustments can be made for a small fee and are completed within a few days.

We offer a variety of shots, including some tightly cropped images, as they are popular choices. If you prefer a different crop, there should be other options available in your gallery.

Unfortunately, we cannot change the background colour of the photos.

Ordering Process and Payment

Log in or create an account, then click the heart icon on your preferred pictures. To view them, select ‘Favourites’ in the top navigation menu. To remove a picture, click the heart icon again.

Yes, we offer various payment options, including online banking and telephone card payments. Customers in China can also use Alipay or China Union Pay.

Delivery times vary by product and location, typically ranging from 3 days to 3-4 weeks. If you need your order by a specific date, please inform us, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Digital files and copyright

Prêt-a-Portrait retains the copyright of all images. Purchasing a JPEG grants you permission for personal use, such as making prints. Commercial use, publishing, or broadcasting requires prior consent.

Yes, class or group pictures can be purchased as digital files. Select the group picture, and the appropriate product options will appear in the shop.

The shape and size of class pictures depend on the chosen style and the number of people in the photo, which can vary from year to year or class to class.

Due to their dimensions, group pictures are compatible with select products. Click on the desired image, and the appropriate product options will be displayed.

Issues and resolutions

Please email a photo of the packaging and the damaged item(s) to customerservice@pret-a-portrait.net. We’ll promptly investigate and resolve the issue.

The ‘Buy More’ option applies when purchasing identical products. In some cases, differences in workflow processes may cause certain pictures to be unavailable for this option. To purchase a ‘greyed-out’ picture, return to the original sitting for that image.

FAQs for Schools

Before school photo day

Your dedicated Prêt-a-Portrait account manager will work closely with your team to understand what you need. They’ll request student data and agree a schedule that fits your school day. You’ll also receive QR cards for students and staff ahead of time.

Each student receives a personalised QR code. This links their photos to their profile, so parents only see their child’s pictures. Students bring their QR card with them when it’s their turn to be photographed.

Absolutely. You can choose from different group photo styles (traditional, informal or panoramic), and we offer sibling photos too. These can be done during the day or as a separate bookable session – whichever works best for your school.

On school photo day

Photographers usually arrive around an hour before the first session. This gives plenty of time to sign in, check DBS and ID, confirm the plan, and set up.

Most schools either assign a staff member to assist or ask class teachers/TAs to bring their own classes. We’re happy to work with whatever’s easiest for you.

We normally use a school hall or similar space. The setup is professional but relaxed, with music and a friendly, fun atmosphere. The goal is to help students feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.

Each student presents their QR card, which we scan first. Then we take a mix of headshots and natural, relaxed shots depending on the child and the time available.

If a student misses their session, they can still be photographed later in the day or on a follow-up visit. As long as they have their QR card, we’ll know who they are.

After school photo day

Very little! Just hand out the viewing cards and remind parents to register. We’ll take care of the rest including parent emails, order tracking, and reminders.

Each parent receives a unique link to their child’s gallery either by QR card, email, or both. They can view and order online in just a few clicks.

Yes, if we’re doing group/class pictures. You’ll have a chance to check names, layouts and details before anything is made available to parents.

Your account manager keeps an eye on this. If needed, they’ll be in touch to recommend a reminder to parents or extend the early bird deadline.

After photo day, we’ll schedule a quick review to hear how it went from your perspective and make sure everything was up to standard.
